I like to work on a piece over a period of time. From the early concept it changes, develops and often takes on a life of its own. This piece actually started life being influenced by an African sculpture I’d seen in Montpellier before moving in its own direction. The “beehive” hairstyle is a throwback to an earlier idea of using bees but I opted for butterflies made from recycled copper tank.
