Orrie gate (back view)

Carved and painted Scottish oak

about 2230mm wide

This double gate near the Boat Club in Lower Largo was commissioned and took about 3 months to carve and paint. There are at least 20 coats of paint and varnish on it. This kind of work has more than a passing affinity with ships figureheads. The scene is a panorama of the Main St with artistic conjecture of what it might have looked like a hundred years ago.
