George – A pillar of society

120mm w x 120mm d x 300mm h

The title from a George Grosz painting depicting the controllers of society. A ringmaster(?) wears a coat of “eyes”. Originally a medieval device used in portrait paintings it is a warning to those who might wish to overthrow the establishment (king, politicians, church etc.) that “we are watching you.” No less true today.
