Narcissus and Echo

250mm w x 280mm d x 410mm h

In punishment for misdeeds, Echo can only repeat the last thing that was said to her. She meets Narcissus who falls in love with her but becomes aggravated by her inability to converse. Narcissus then looking into a pond falls in love with himself. In frustration he weeps, his tears disturbing the reflection. He says “good-bye” to Echo who replies “Goodbye” Weeping over his reflection, Narcissus is eventually turned into a white and purple flower. My little piece shows Narcissus and Echo in happier times.
