An Turas

Driftwood.

An turas in Gaelic means “the journey” It is also the name of the ferry terminal on Tiree. The little sculpture shows my cycling companion and I waiting for the ferry. Copper and driftwood used were collected from beaches on our travels between the islands. The overall shape was an attempt to suggest an arrow or a fish head and with it, the idea of movement.
