Acquired from a dearly missed friend this Victorian cist or chest with candle box was repaired and a Victorian lock and hinges fitted. The decoration is typical of 18th century East European and North American wedding chests but with the twist of the addition of little naive narratives. The top awaits the addition of the initials of the betrothed.
